Another trip to the ER

On Friday we made yet another trip to the ER. Belle and Carson were swinging between the couch and chair. I told them to stop and they surprisingly enough did! But, thier sister also heard me tell them to stop. So, being the defiant 2 year old she is had to try it too. I told her she needed to stop too. Before I even got that out of my mouth she went down. Face first onto the floor! I quick grabbed her and stood her up. She had terrified eyes and had knocked the wind out of herself. After a few seconds she finally inhaled (more of a gasp). Then began crying. I picked her up and looked at her. She had squashed her nose. I am not kidding now. She flattened her nose. There were only nostrils. Her nose was flush with her cheeks.
I panicked. I quick called my mom to come over. All I could think of was when I had heard if you get hit just right in the nose you could die. While we were waiting for mom the crying did stop. I could not get her to talk or walk. Finally she began to perk up again. After about 20 minutes she was back to playing with the kids. I called the nurse line just to make sure there wasn't anything to worry about. She afterall, was pretty much back to normal. I was talking with the nurse and as I told her what had happend she just kept saying, "Oh my!" Obviously squashing your nose doesn't happen that often. The nurse would have me check this or that on Ness. I could barely get her to stop playing long enough to check it out. The nurses advice was to take her to the doctor and just have her checked to make sure she was fine.
So, I hung up with her to call the doctor. I got put on with another nurse. While I was telling her what had happend the other nurse called back and said she had been thinking about it and I should call 9-1-1 right away! I hung up with her, began talking to the other nurse, told her what the other nurse said, but also said that I was pretty sure this didn't warrent a call to 9-1-1. Besides while I was on the phone with the first nurse I saw the ambulance heading out on a run already.
I got an appointment. Took Nessa up to the doctor. The nurse that came in wrote on the the chart, "swing between couch and chair, fell on face. Nose dissapeared and then reappeared a few minutes later." The doctor came in and looked at her nose everything checked out fine. He said she probably squished the cartilage.
I wish I would have been able to take a picture of it. It was the wierdest looking nose I have ever seen!
