Nessa goes to the ER AGAIN!!!

Yesterday was suppose to be hot, so we planned to go to the Redwing Pool for the day. It was warm, but not as warm as they made it sound. Anyway we had a great time. Austin brought a friend and stayed busy playing with him. Belle spent the day going down the water slides. Carson played with his girlfriend Ruby. Ness just roamed in and out of the water. She laid on her tummy and would splash. She was having a great time.
Near the end of the day Nessa found the steps for the little kids slide. She was too little for it, so I pulled her down. We all know she is stubborn and strong willed. So, this should come as no surprise, she didn't give up. She would not leave those stupid steps alone. It was a good half hour of turning her around and trying to redirect her attention. I would hold her hand and we would walk to another part of the pool. This one time-it turned out to be the last time-I grabbed her hand to bring her to another part, she bent her legs trying to get away. I felt her arm go CRRRAAACKKKK! She started bawling. I thought that I broke her arm. We packed up our stuff and took off for home. I dropped off the kids and then took her up to the hospital. She was holding her arm with the other arm and would cry when her arm was moved.
The doctor came in and held her arm and said, "she is not going to like this." Then Nessa started screaming and the doctor said "It's back in" It turned out that I didn't break her arm or even dislocate it. SHe had nurse maid's elbow. I guess it is common in kids under 5. The ligament gets stuck between the joints (or something like that). After about 2 minutes she was fine and using her arm like it had never even happend.
Just another boring day at our house!

Always running to nowhere

June is almost over and it seems that all we have done is run here and there. Rarely is a day that we just sit at home all day. Austin has been going to the athletic field in the mornings from 9-12 so that keeps him busy. Belle has had summer school last week and this week for a couple of hours in the mornings. Poor Carson has nothing so he and I and Ness hang out at home. Some days we clean so we can go do fun stuff in the afternoon and other days we spend the morning outside playing. We have gone to the Cannon pool, Redwing pool, Prescott beach, parks, and the library.
Last week my mom and I went and looked at a house. I have decided that I am ready to move. This house just isn't big enough and it requires too much work. I fell in love with the house we toured. It was a 5 bedroom. We could easily fit into that! The house was built in 2000, so it is still new. I called the bank to see if we could buy that one and keep this house as a rental property. I got the call back on Friday that we would qualify for a loan! Now I am trying to figure out how to make more money! It would be tight to have 2 mortgage payments and be able to eat and live.
I am considering being a surrogate mother. I loved being pregnant, but just don't want another baby. I will keep you updated on that!
This weekend I am taking wedding pictures for a couple. The wedding is up in Minnetrista. I still am not sure where that is! I will have to figure that out before Saturday.
I better get going we are off to the Redwing pool this afternoon. I need to pack a lunch and some snacks.

I got this poem in an e-mail today and thought it was funny. Enjoy!!

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked the shit out of him...
Like his mother used to do.

TRIP TO THE ER...

Sunday was a busy day. Our neighbors were hosting a graduation party, so right a way in the morning Phil got up and went out to mow the lawn. Then he weed whipped and helped Eric a little with their lawn.
A couple of weeks ago the electricity went out in the garage. Phil tried to rerun the wire, but needed something from Menards. So, around noon we all hopped in the van and took off for Applevalley. We got what Phil needed from Menards, but I wanted to find some jalepeno plants for my garden. So, we went to some of the greenhouses to find some...NEVER DID! No one has any this year.
When we got home we went over to the graduation party. We hung out there for awhile. As we were leaving we invited all of the neighbors over for a fire. So, we rushed home and made dinner fast, because the company would be here in a hour or so. We had chicken and corn. Not fancy I know, but it was quick. After we were done eating I got up to clear the table. I took the plates to the sink. When I got back Nessa was digging in her nose. That meant that she had stuck something up her nose. This obviously was not the first time she has done this. I have dug peas, corn, mac and cheese, m & ms, chow mein noodles, and other things out before. THis was nothing new. I called Phil in the house (he had gone out to work on the electricity) so that he could help me get the corn out. Now all I needed was for him to hold her arms down. I would take a flashlight and put it in my mouth, put her in a headlock and dig it out with a tooth pick. But not this time...Phil wanted to pull it out. He used a tweezer. Just as he got it in her nose she jerked causing him to push it in further. Then he took the snot sucker from when she was born and jammed it in her nose as far as he could. This obviously pushed the corn in further. So, we ran to the ER. It didn't take long to get in and see the doctor. But, he wanted her sedated to pull the corn out. The nurse then called a anesthetist to sedate her. It took him an hour to get to the hospital. Then it took him and the doctor a good 20 minutes to decide how to remove the corn. All the while Nessa was not enjoying sitting in the waiting room. So, then they take us to the OR. They took a seringe and shot some stuff up her nose that was suppose to relax her so the doctor could take the corn out. It didn't work, so they did it again. We waited another 5 minutes and still nothing. They did it again. Finally after about 5 minutes she was bobbing her head. Then we held her down on the operating table and the doctor tried to dig it out. That didn't work. The anesthetist suggested sucking it out with a catheder. So they tried that. I think they sucked all the snot out of her! Finally they got the corn!
We weren't able to leave just yet. We had to go back to the waiting room for a half hour for observation. She got dopeyer by the minute. It was like having a over grown infant! She couldn't hold her head up and definately couldn't stand up. She had glossy eyes. All she did was sit on my lap and say hi and bye everytime someone walked by.
After the half hour we were finally able to come home! The fire had already started. Phil was entertaining by himself. I felt so bad. I had forgotten my phone at the house and there wasn't one in the waiting room, so I was unable to call and let him know what was going on. Nessa remained dopey until she woke up in the morning and was fine.
All of the kids except for Carson have shoved something up their nose at least once. I have never had to have them sedated though until now. I guess that is what you get when you doctor in Cannon!
