Duluth

The last weekend in July we went camping in Duluth. Once again, who would have thought that the end of July would be so cold. I only brought warm clothes, no shorts! One night it got down to 40 degrees, we froze! Anyway, we had promised the kids that we would take them to Duluth again to see the boats, because when we go in January the lake is frozen and the boats aren't moving. We had also promised them that we would go camping again, so we killed two birds with one stone and went camping in Duluth!

We took a tour of this ship, Phil and I had only been on it one other time and that was when we were dating. I went up to visit Phil while he was at school and we took the "haunted tour". So we had never really seen what it was like on the inside. I have realized lately that I am terrified of heights. I have never really had an issue before, but it seems to be getting worse. Not only am I scared, then when the kids are up high, that scares me too!

Making a "phone call" on the ship

Perhaps they will be ship captains?

We found this amazing view one night when we were out on a drive after dinner. So, we decided to go back once it got dark. I got a couple of great pictures, but we realized once we got there that it was the teenage, drug hang out spot. Needless to say we didn't stay long!

Duluth is in the background...We really were up high!

Did I mention we also got rained on? After we got back from our day up the shoreline, it finally stopped raining and there was a rainbow that stretched over all of duluth. Too bad my lens wasn't wide enough to get the whole thing, it was really pretty!
At Gooseberry

Phil and the kids exploring at Gooseberry.

I wish I could shoot these falls, when no one is around. They are amazing!
Split Rock

One of the workers volunteered to take our picture when we were at Split Rock...Aren't we attractive?
I don't remember why, but Carson spent most of our "Canal Park" day crying, probably just lack of sleep:)

Austin holding the lighthouse!

This was outside of one of the stores in Canal Park.

We rented a bike. That thing didn't move very easy!
Waiting for a boat.

Her new thing is make up. She really is pretty right?
