Long time...

It has been forever since I have posted. Can you believe that June is almost over already? So, what have we done so far? I really cannot say. Time has just flown by. Our summer schedule is in full force. It is nice to not have to get up by 7 any more. We have been up late most nights so the kids are sleeping until 8:30. But, then our day begins. Belle and Austin go to the athletic field for games and crafts on Monday-Thursdays. It is from 9-12, but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays Austin has baseball practice. How can he play baseball with a broken leg, I am not sure, but he is determined to do it! He even played hot box on e day!
Belle and Carson play t-ball on Monday nights, it is fun to watch. Most of the kids are picking grass or looking around, not paying much attention to the game. I have some pictures of that, I will try to post.
Phil and I have started walking every night. Some days I go by myself in the mornings! We make a large loop around town. We are almost ready to move from a fast walk to a jog. The kids enjoy it too, because they get to ride their bikes. They are getting stronger everyday! They want to race in the tractor pull at the fair and hope to win a trophy. I will keep you posted. Last year all of them won one.
Phil has gotten a promotion, he will now be in charge of both Red Wing and Sleepy Eye IT departments. He is going to have to drive out there a couple of times a month for a few days, that is a minor con to the job, but we will survive!
Last week we got a new roof! Yeah, not so exciting. We were told by the insurance company we needed to replace it or they wouldn't cover any damage done to the house due to the roof. We knew that it needed to get done, but weren't happy about the urgency to have to get it done. None of the roof people in town wanted to do it, without robbing us, so Phil's uncle volunteered to do it for a significant amount less.
On Friday this week we are going camping with a bunch of friends. The kids are excited, but I am a little nervous about Nessa and not sleeping anywhere but in her own bed. I have been trying to convince my mom to take her for the weekend, but she hasn't committed to it yet.
The fair comes to town next week, so I will be busy with work as well as enjoying the festivities with the kids! And then the following week we have camp with the church. So, as you can see we have had very little time to slow down and think. At least this way we don't get bored right?
This past Friday we took the kids to Red Wing to watch some hot air balloons launch. Well it ended up to windy for them to go up, so we needed to find something fun and free to do. So, we took the kids over to Barn Bluff. It is the huge bluff just before the bridge into Wisconsin in Red Wing. We managed to get about half way up, before it started to get dark. We had to turn around so we weren't trying to hike in the dark. Anyway, when we got to the bottom we looked at the map. We had taken the difficult path. (It really wasn't that bad) Since we weren't planning to go on a hike we all had sandals on trying to climb this bluff. I can only imagine what all the other hikers thought of us. Dragging 4 kids up the bluff with sandals and one with a cast on his leg, not to mention the difficulty of the trail. Oh, well we got some good pictures and the kids had fun, they even want to do it again soon!
Well if I am going to put pictures on here I better stop typing! Until Later...
