going to school
Last night Phil and I went and did a required campus visit at Dakota County College. As of last night there is no waiting list for the photography program, so I should be able to make it in for the fall semester! Only a few of the credits that I have taken from LSC will transfer, so I have decided that I am going to transfer those credits to DCTC and use them for an A.S. in photography, then since all I have left for my A.A. is 10 elective credits I will transfer some of the credits that I get from DCTC back to LSC. Then I will have an A.A. and an A.S.! After all that schooling is done, probably 5 years from now, I will go and get a bachelors in Journalism... I told Phil last night that I will be a student forever! As much as I whine and complain about it, I really do love the stress and the high you get when you finish and get the grade you have worked so hard for. Don't get me wrong, many of the classes I have taken have sucked and I really see no point in needing them, but when I get the letter at the end of the semester saying that I made the dean's list again it is well worth it. I know that it will be good to have the degree, but if I weren't going to go for photography, what would an A.A. be good for? It doesn't specialize in anything, all I could do with it is say that I have it. Anyway, I am so excited to finally be doing something that will actually get me somewhere and be able to do something that I love as well as make good money doing it! I am thinking that by next summer I should have had enough classes that I can do some weddings and such and know pretty well what i am doing or should be doing. One thing that I found out last night was that the school supplies the cameras. I am not sure that I will like that, I would rather use my own and get comfortable using that since that is what I am going to use from now until Jesus comes! Of course I will upgrade, but I am pretty set with a Canon camera. They also have a required class that I will have to develope my own pictures, I have done this before and it was fun, however; It is my belief that film cameras will be obsolite in the next 5 years, so is it really worth my time to take this class??? I know I am rambleing, just excited i guess. It feels like i finally have a purpose other than cleaning, dishes, laundry, etc!!!
