We carved pumpkins on Saturday night. Mom and Dad and Reas came over. We bought on of those carving kits...Pain in the BUTT!!!! it takes forever. They do make really good images on teh pumpkins, but what ever happend to circles, triangles, squares and diamonds that I used to have on my pumpkins that i carved as a kid? If we could have convinced the kids to do it simple we could have been done an hour sooner. This year Austin did do most of the clean out and the carving on his own, although I was very nervous about him handling a knife, but he did good. Carson wouldnt touch his pumkin at all, he said it was icky! Belle would have liked to carve hers herself, but the whole 5 year old with a knife thing didn't sit very well with me, so Phil helped her. Ness had a blast she was playing in the seeds, pulling ish out of the pumpkins and just running around. She did get bored toward the end and went to play, Reas put a clown wig on her and then she thought she was really cute!
Tonight we are going to take the kids out trick-or-treating. There is a costume parade after school, then we will head up to mom and dads and have a quick supper. Ness is going to stay with mom and grandma mary, while Phil and I take the kids out. As they get tired we are going to bring them back for grandma to watch and they can help give out candy. Austin is going to be a mummy (took me 6 hours to sew it), Belle is going to be handy Manny, Carson is going to be a pumpkin, and ness is going to be a dalmation. I will post the pictures of thier costumes another day.
